I saw someone's blog post about their 2008 best restaurants: here

g may differ a bit, but I think this is a good summary for my dining experience this last year (if it doesn't list a city, assume Toronto):

d'Atelier de Joel Robuchon, Las Vegas
Aux Truffes, Mont Tremblant
Susur
Pizzeria Due, Chicago
Peller Estates Winery Restaurant, Niagara
Tiara, Niagara
Jean-Georges, NYC
Marben
Colborne Lane

surprises:
Terroni Adelaide

disappointments:
Splendido
Amaya
Atelier Thuet (g loved her pasta)

would love to try this year:
top 50 restaurants, including, el Bulli, Spain
North 44
Nota Bene
Sushi Kaji

I'm sure there's lots I'm missing, but that's off the top of my head =)

On another note, I'm currently trying recipes from Alinea:

So far, I've made the cucumber gelee and pistachio brittle.  More on the experiments (and photos) to come.

Hey Matt, Good list of TO restaurants, though would have to add a couple more
    - Langdon Hall
    - Eigensenn Farm - both are totally worth the drive
    - for an amazing wine selection, barberian steak house is good.
    - With regards to Splendido, we went in the spring time and were totally blown away by the menu, but Robert went again in the fall and it was a big disappointment.
    - If you pass by London, UK would totally try Gordon Ramsay... but French Laundry wasn't worth the trip. If you do get a El Bulli reservation, bring us along!

    Whoa!

Such a cool experiment. I work for Foodista.com and perhaps you have heard, Foodista has put a call out to all food bloggers to submit blog posts and recipes to the Foodista Best of Food Blogs Cookbook.
For the next couple months, food bloggers can submit their photography, writings, and original recipes to Foodista.com. The public can view all submissions on the website and vote for their favorites. That feedback and editors at both Andrews McMeel Publishing and Foodista.com will determine 100 entries chosen for inclusion in "The Foodista Best of Food Blogs Cookbook." More info available here: http://www.foodista.com/blogbook.

No one has entered a molecular recipe so far-

    You should enter!
    Good Luck!
You've got a great blog- and a great chance to win!
